LOLER Compliance for Arboricultural Professionals
Keeping your team legal and your equipment certified. Thorough examinations and detailed inspection reports for climbing and rigging equipment.
Regulation Overview
What is LOLER?
The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) place legal obligations on employers and those who own, operate, or control lifting equipment used at work.
In arboriculture, this covers the ropes, harnesses, carabiners, pulleys, and rigging equipment that your team relies on every day. Under LOLER, this equipment must be subject to thorough examination at regular intervals by a competent person — and the results must be recorded.
Failure to comply is not just a legal risk. If an accident occurs and your equipment hasn't been properly inspected, the consequences for your business — and your team — can be serious.

What You Receive
After examination, we provide a Certificate of Thorough Examination for each item of equipment inspected. This certificate records the condition of the equipment, the date of examination, the next examination due date, and any defects found.
Certificates are provided in a format suitable for your records and for inspection by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) or an enforcing authority.
We also provide interim inspection templates — simple checklists your operators can use for pre-use checks between thorough examinations. These aren't a legal requirement, but they're good practice and support your overall safety management.
